This year the PeopleSoft ReConnect show took place at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. Early Tuesday morning for the opening day of this deep-dive event, customers were invited to network and participate in focused discussions during the SIGs (Special Interest Group) and the industry user group meetings.  had the pleasure to sit on the Financial Services Industry Users Group (FSIUG) meeting and as usual the meeting room was full. If you are not yet a member of a SIG or Industry user group, I highly recommend that you sign up for one. These customer groups are a great venue/tool for your organization to push for new functionality in the product. Further, Oracle Strategy is present and works closely with them for input and direction on where the Product should head next. It is also a fantastic opportunity to share experiences and gain insights from colleagues, who have gone through upgrade, integration, and customization issues that you and your team are facing now. The first day wrapped up with an exciting opening reception! Ataway had the pleasure to meet with past and current clients, prospects (hopefully future clients) and the Oracle Strategy Team during the opening reception

Ataway received recognition from Oracle during the Collaborate 14 conference!

Thousands of Oracle users met in Las Vegas last week for the annual OAUG/IOUG/Quest event, Collaborate 2014. On the second day of Collaborate, Adam Savage from the hit TV series “MythBusters” delivered the opening keynote. Savage, who was described by the Collaborate team as the ultimate mix between artist and scientist, captivated the audience with his presentation on “Curiosity: Asking the Right Questions.”

The second day was also dedicated to product line roadmaps. Lyle Ekdahl, Oracle Senior Vice President Product Development, had a packed JD Edwards roadmap presentation (complete with crystal ball readings!) JD Edwards has already released 32 mobile-focused applications for Android and is planning 100 by the end of the year on iOS. Meanwhile, Paco Aubrejuan, Senior Vice President for PeopleSoft Products, presented the new PeopleTools 8.54 to support HTML5 mobile applications. PeopleTools 8.54 comes with mobile-friendly responsive designs for PeopleSoft or standalone pure mobile applications. Ataway had the pleasure to present two sessions: one on PeopleSoft Expense in the Cloud and the other on Transforming Finance. The two sessions were well attended.

Ataway was honored to receive a certificate from the Oracle Open Strategy Team (pictured above), which was awarded based on our new specializations, customer success stories and Solutions Catalog page

During the third day, education sessions continued in full force with a variety of exciting and relevant talks on all product lines. Between sessions, Quest members networked and shared ideas on their upgrade customizations.

Thursday was the last full day of Collaborate 14, and continued with standing room education sessions on JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, EBS, Fusion, SOA, BPM and SAP. Collaborate 14 ended with a great party, COLLABO-CON, which saw a packed dance floor full of superheroes -- and even some Stormtroopers! Attendees were able to grab candies and drinks from superhero themed bars and dance with Transformers!

Thanks for everyone who visited our booth, as well as the Quest, OAUG and Organization teams for all their efforts in making this event successful. Finally, thanks to Oracle for presenting so many sessions during the event and sharing their product knowledge with customers.
