The PeopleSoft team has changed the game again as they introduced the new PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) in PeopleSoft 9.2. PUM transforms the way customers manage their PeopleSoft applications. Customers have the ability to determine what maintenance to apply and when to apply it, and at any point, can create a single change package to become current. It is like having the features of a cloud application without the hassle. You can roll out or opt out of features without the pain of an upgrade, keeping full control of your environments and the features, and all with minimal costs. There will be no more costly upgrades! The cost savings and strategic benefits this enables are significant.

Brazil for example have the Nota Fiscal and SPED, Chile create DTE and Libros, so it was expected that the Mexican Tax Authorities develop and implement something, now they have CFDI and electronic books. All those countries also implemented a penalty system in case organization are not complying.

As part of the 2014 Mexican tax reform, the Mexican government published a new rule requiring that taxpayers electronically submit monthly accounting information in accordance with rules.

On August 1st, China began implementing its new VAT tax program on a national scale. The program, which has already been successfully piloted in many of China’s major cities, is aiming to transition Mainland China to one universal tax system. The previous tax system was an exclusive dual tax program that used both a business tax (BT) and a VAT tax. The goal of the new VAT program is to eliminate the current double taxation system and unify China under a singular sales tax law. The ultimate goal of the tax reform is to facilitate the development of service sectors and achieve a desirable industrial structure.

On Sunday, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison kicked off the OpenWorld 2013 conference by announcing updates to the company’s combined hardware and software database systems. At Day One of the annual event, even more announcements were made!

Oracle released a database recovery appliance, one of the company’s hardware and software combinations that could help companies reduce costs by increasing business continuity.“Some companies spend as much as 1/3 of their IT budgets on things like database recovery and backup!” said Oracle President Marc Hurd at a press conference earlier this week. "We focus on bringing our customers performance gains, and that equals cost savings in infrastructure".

Oracle now allows organizations to backup data in incremental phases instead of larger, more expensive and time consuming backups. Now that Oracle has embraced the cloud, new software licenses and cloud software subscriptions account for about 20% of total revenue, according to Hurd.
