Ataway recently hosted an employee Bootcamp in its Buenos Aires office in September, inviting Ataway employees from around the globe to attend an eight-day training and networking event. The Bootcamp is a global training initiative, including several sessions on Ataway methodology, tools, templates and communication across cultures, lead by experienced consultants. Each day of the Bootcamp focused on a different stage of the Ataway methodology, SurePath 2.0 (Plan, Design, Build, Test and Deploy). Not only did the Bootcamp provide employees with an opportunity to build their knowledge of Ataway’s proven project methodology (SurePath 2.0), but it also provided employees with an opportunity to build their internal networks at Ataway as well.

Communication plays a large part in our lives, both personally and professionally. When talking about communication, many think about talking, or ways they can more clearly get their point across in a conversation. However, talking and presenting viewpoints isn’t all that is involved in communication. Listening plays a large role in the communication process as well. Not only as a consultant, but as a human being, it is very important for us to learn how to listen before we learn how to speak. Listening involves taking in what the other person is saying and processing it before speaking. Here are ten tips you can implement to refine your active listening habits and improve your communication skills.

Did you know it takes an oil tanker a minimum of 30 miles to reverse its direction out in the sea? With business, it is similar: It takes time and commitment to change, based on values, principles and quality relationships to positively affect your company's culture.

Your competition has the same access to industry forecasts and analyst reports. So how do you innovate and create leadership? The wild card is the human side of the equation. The potential for high quality products, stability and competitiveness are released through an organization's people. It's the people in your company that make the difference!

Studies have shown that companies embracing an organizational culture get 15% more productivity from the workforce. And whether you realize it or not, everyone in your organization is a manager; you either manage employees or you manage yourself and your own manager. So no matter where you are positioned in your company, you can always make a difference in the organization culture. As Gandhi once said: “Be the change you want to see in the world." In other words, if you want to change the world, start with yourself. Become a great leader for yourself, and then you can start to be a positive leader for everyone else.

Leaders often wonder why they can’t get traction in making the changes they know are necessary. They make take steps towards change such as articulating a new vision. They change a few policies, they replace a few key people, and yet nothing substantive changes. The problem is that company culture is largely invisible to those inside of it. It’s like water to a fish. It’s simply the environment we live in.

Let’s go over few key steps that will help you and your organization to achieve mastery in improving organizational culture.

In times of economic crisis, companies must often resort to cost-cutting measures. More often than not, this means reducing their best assets: the employees.

But staff reductions leave employees feeling disengaged. Recent studies have shown that employee engagement levels have dropped significantly since 2008. According to Gallup, more than two-thirds of American workers are "not engaged" or "disengaged" with  their workplaces due to the uncertainty of the economy over the past two years (Read: State of the American Workplace).

This leads to a loss of creativity and innovation. In an uncertain environment, people who are unengaged aren't going to speak up about issues they encounter or bring in new ideas. As a result, productivity really suffers, impacting the bottom line.

So how do you keep employees engaged in uncertain times? How do you optimize someone’s productivity during uncertain times?

Here are 3 ideas that have worked for other companies.

Ataway Buenos Aires met with students at the CAECE University Job Fair in August.

Earlier last year, Ataway was invited to two separate university job fairs in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Paris, France. The recruiting events were great opportunities for Ataway to introduce the company and extend job and internship opportunities to students.

Ataway Buenos Aires returned to the CAECE University Job Fair for the second year in a row back in August, with the Ataway recruiting team proudly manning the company booth, responding to a crowd of students looking for a job that fit their expectations. All day, they collected CVs and performed quick interviews to determine which students would be good matches for Ataway.

Meanwhile, thanks to a partnership with the ISC Engineering School in Paris, Ataway France was invited to be represented at the school's “Enterprises Day" -- an event for their next class of graduate students. The gave Ataway the opportunity to give one-on-one interviews with hopeful candidates from ISC.
