In our last blog post, we discussed what is RPA and how it can be used to optimize processes, manual task or how it can support easy integration. In this new blog we will discuss Why your organization should look at Robotic process automation.

Robotic process automation (RPA) enables bots to replicate the actions of human workers for tasks such as data entry as we saw in the previous post why RPA. RPA has the potential to dramatically change the way companies approach many of their key business processes.

In a typical, manual process, workers copy and paste information from one system to another, and then manually integrate data from multiple sources to leverage it within a process. Integrating systems is expensive, and organization might have multiple process variations due to a lack of centralization. Another issue is the complexity of processes, it drives many organizations to rely on employees to manually plug process gaps.

Leveraging Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for process improvement will provide a quick return on investment to organization

The benefits of using an RPA solution are increased productivity and rapid ROI, with a non-disruptive integration and rapid implementation.

We put few examples of business activities that can benefit from automation with RPA:

Pulling data from multiple systems and spreadsheets to generate monthly regulatory compliance reports.

Collecting invoice and payment information from various systems and initiating credit collection investigation and follow up.

Verifying a home healthcare patient’s eligibility through online insurance portals.

Handling partner purchase orders and invoices coming in through different communication channels.

Scheduling shipments and tracking, and updating internal and external (customer)

According to the Institute for Robotic Process Automation (IRPA) ” Organizations that rely on labor on a large scale, in which people perform high-volume, highly transactional functions, can potentially benefit from RPA”

Frances Karamouzis, research vice president and analyst at Gartner said "They're also easy to use and have a relatively low cost. For all those reasons [RPA] has by far the highest adoption of automation tools that we've seen." “Although the scope of the technology is limited to certain tasks at this point, Gartner is advising clients to deploy the products. “It’s low-hanging fruit and has a fast return on investment" because of the added efficiencies, she said.
